Jeep Stuff

This is the part I’m looking for my military arctic top (for a 1955 M38A1).  I’m only looking for one as I have one other.

This is one side.

And this is the other.

And here are a few pictures of what the part will go on – a 1955 M38A1.  It has about 35,000 original miles – so you can see it’s a pretty clean rig that almost restored itself.  I realize it’s not 100% bone stock – I have made certain changes to suit my needs.

Note the original data plates.

Everything is pretty much stock other than a conversion to 12V with the regulator in an original case.

This was taken in April of ’01 prior to completion.

And this is the intended use.  I actually use the thing exploring the desert.  This is the Black Rock desert in Nevada.  What a place!

Here’s the actual Applegate-Lassen trail (in the Black Rock Desert) used by westward immigrants back in the 1840s (and of course still traveled by explorers of today – note the A1).

Recent photograph taken 2/23/2002 after a spring drive.  Note the original arctic hard top recently restored (with the original wood doors)!

Picture from the back showing how everything is still pretty much stock.
