Phys 485, Introduction to Astrophysics . . . . 3
This course entails the study of stars, star clusters and galaxies. This will include the application of the principles of atomic structure and radiation laws to the interpretation of stellar and nebular spectra, energy generation by thermonuclear reactions and nucleosynthesis, theoretical and observational aspects of stellar evolution and the constituents and structure of stellar systems.
Corequisites: None
Prerequisites: Phys 185, Phys 331 and Math 321.
