Astronomy

For the past several decades, the focus of the physics department at South Dakota State University has been primarily on teaching.  Within the past few years the university focus has shifted with a greater emphasis on research.  To that end, many research programs within the department are in their infancy.  Efforts are continuing to grow these programs.  The satellite calibration research program is the longest-standing in the department.
