Position Description:
This position is a renewable, nine-month term position to teach undergraduate general physics
courses as assigned at The University Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate for this position will teach undergraduate physics courses as assigned, and assist with general education student advising.
Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for this position are an earned master's degree in physics from an
accredited institution, effective written and oral English communication skills, and effective interpersonal relationship skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications fort this position are that the successful individual will be capable of achieving excellence in teaching, and have a knowledge of basic computer technology.
Rank and Salary:
The position will be filled at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level. Salary is dependent upon experience and other qualifications.
UNIVERSITY/COMMUNITY:
The teaching responsibilities of this position will be located at University Center, a satellite campus located in Sioux Falls, SD. UC is a partnership of South Dakota State University, The University of South Dakota, Dakota State University, and Northern State University that provides undergraduate and graduate coursework and programs in Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls is a vital, growing community with a population of 141,000 located in southeastern SD. As a satellite campus, UC has an enrollment of over 2,000 students, serving mainly non-traditional students in the region.
