Lecture:          CEH 351, M W F, 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM

Prerequisite:   EE 317 Signals and Systems II and basic Matlab (or C) Programming skills

Office Hours:  Monday 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Tuesday 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Thursday 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and Friday 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM or by appointment.

Course Objectives:

This course introduces the basic concepts and methodologies in digital image processing to the students. It prepares students for further study and research in image processing. The concept of using 2-D linear system theory and signal processing methods in image processing will be introduced. Various image processing techniques in the spatial-domain as well as in the frequency-domain will be studied.

After this course, Students are required to

           develop the skills to use linear system theory, signal processing theory, and noise statistical model to solve image processing problems;

           be able to design filters in the spatial and frequency domain;

           be able to design image processing algorithm to solve real world problem;

           develop awareness of the contemporary issues in the fast developing field.
